Job summary

Precise is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Sydney, NSW to lead HVAC design across construction and estimating projects. You will review designs, perform sizing calculations, and coordinate with PMs, subcontractors, and clients to ensure quality and compliance.

The role combines hands-on HVAC design with site inspections, commissioning support, and problem solving on complex commercial projects. A strong background in Australian standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 8 years' Mechanical Engineering experience in the HVAC industry in Australia.
• Strong hands-on HVAC design experience for commercial construction projects.
• Solid knowledge of Australian HVAC standards and codes.
• Experience with project and site coordination with PMs, subcontractors and clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate HVAC design across construction and estimating projects.
• Review designs against site conditions, project requirements and Australian standards.
• Perform engineering calculations for system sizing, equipment selection and installation.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and construction teams to resolve design issues.
• Attend client, design and site meetings to resolve technical issues.
