Job summary

JJ’s Waste is seeking a Senior HV Mechanic / Workshop Manager in Moranbah to lead a small workshop while staying hands-on. The role combines on‑tool work with leadership, overseeing a team of mechanics and apprentices and ensuring high safety and reliability in the fleet.

Salary ranges from $180,000 to $200,000 per year plus Super, with a 10.00am–8.00pm schedule and a company car and phone provided. Relocation costs are covered for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification: Truck Mechanic – Heavy Commercial Vehicle.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
• Experience maintaining heavy vehicles and diesel equipment.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Flexible to manage rosters and on‑site supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a culture of safety first.
• Lead, mentor and support workshop staff.
• Managing the daily operations of the workshop to ensure efficient scheduling and productivity.
• Ensuring the fleet is maintained to and in compliance with JJ’s Waste Fleet Management Standards with an emphasis on safety.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders, including the driving team.
