Job summary

Compass Group Australia is seeking a Senior Safety Advisor to lead HSEQ across remote FIFO sites in Moranbah and surrounding regions, partnering with operational leaders to strengthen safety culture, ensure compliance, and embed robust HSEQ systems through coaching and data-driven improvement. The role involves a 5 days on / 2 days off roster, hybrid Brisbane office, with frequent site travel.

You will mentor site managers, lead incident investigations, and deliver training to build capability

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in HSEQ or related discipline with understanding of WHS legislation and codes of practice.
• Minimum 3 years' experience supporting safe operations and ability to influence leaders.
• Experience in FIFO, remote or multi-site environments implementing HSEQ programs.
• Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Experience in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• High-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Autonomous work style with ability to coordinate across a dispersed portfolio.
• Advanced computer literacy; valid driver's licence; mine site medical and client entry requirements are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic HSEQ leadership across remote FIFO sites and drive safety culture.
• Lead risk management initiatives and ensure hazards are controlled across sites.
• Audit and assure WHS, environmental, hygiene, quality and client requirements.
• Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Analyse HSEQ performance data to drive continuous improvement.
• Deliver safety training, toolbox talks and leadership engagement activities.
• Build relationships with clients and site stakeholders to strengthen safety culture.
• Develop and execute a structured FIFO site engagement plan.
