Job summary

Talent Corp is seeking an experienced Senior HR Adviser to join a Commonwealth Government organisation, delivering specialist workplace relations advice across a broad range of employment matters. You will interpret and apply Commonwealth legislation, policies and frameworks to deliver practical, consistent workplace outcomes.

You will work with managers and employees, analyse complex issues, and provide clear recommendations while supporting policy development and organisational change.

Qualifications

• Experience in workplace relations, ideally within the Commonwealth public sector.
• Strong understanding of public sector employment legislation, frameworks and policy.
• Ability to interpret industrial instruments and provide clear, practical advice.
• Strong research, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
• Sound judgement and discretion handling sensitive employment matters.
• Qualifications in HR, industrial relations, employment law or business management are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert workplace relations advice to managers and employees.
• Interpret and apply Commonwealth employment legislation, industrial instruments, policies and procedures.
• Support the development and review of employment policies, guidance materials and workplace practices.
• Research and analyse complex workplace relations matters and provide clear recommendations to decision-makers.
• Contribute to workplace relations projects and broader people initiatives.
• Build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Support organisational change and promote a positive workplace culture, including employee wellbeing and psychosocial safety.
