Job summary

Cloncurry Shire Council seeks an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to join our Executive team, delivering a broad HR portfolio across operational HR, employee relations, and strategic workforce initiatives.

Reporting to the Manager Human Resources & Safety, you will provide practical advice to managers, help shape policies, and support recruitment, performance management, and compliance while fostering a positive workplace.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of employee relations, industrial instruments and HR practices.
• Experience handling sensitive employee matters and performance issues.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional HR advice to managers on employee relations and performance management.
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, probation, and offboarding.
• Support interpretation of employment legislation and industrial awards.
• Develop, review, and implement HR policies and workforce initiatives.
• Support organisational change and staff development.
• Prepare HR reports and maintain accurate records.
• Identify workforce risks and promote wellbeing and engagement.
