Colac Otway Shire Council is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our People and Culture team. You will act as a trusted advisor to leaders, strengthen workforce capability and drive strategic people initiatives that benefit our communities.

This role blends advisory leadership with hands-on case management, workforce planning and organisational development, using data to inform decisions and foster an inclusive, high-performing workplace.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior HRBP, Employee/Industrial Relations role.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Fair Work processes and enterprise agreements.
• Experience managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, coaching and influencing skills.
• Experience supporting organisational development, workforce planning and change initiatives.
• Outstanding communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, Industrial Relations, Business or related discipline.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert advice on employee relations and employment legislation.
• Lead complex workplace investigations and case management.
• Partner with leaders to build capability and strengthen workplace culture.
• Support enterprise bargaining and union consultation.
• Represent Council in Fair Work matters and manage proceedings.
• Drive workforce planning and organisational development.
• Use workforce data to identify trends and inform decisions.
