Details: Capital Linen Service is looking for a people-focused HR generalist to join our small, collaborative HR team as a Senior HR Officer. This is an opportunity to take on a broad and rewarding role in a fast-paced operational environment where your advice, judgement and ability to build trusted relationships will have a direct impact.

Reporting to the Director HR, you will provide practical and responsive HR support across the employment lifecycle. Your work will include injury management, recruitment, employee relations, workforce planning, organisational change, learning and development, workforce reporting and continuous improvement.

You will work closely with managers, supervisors, employees, central HR teams and external service providers to resolve workplace matters, strengthen workforce capability and support safe, fair and consistent people management practices.

This is an opportunity to undertake meaningful work and contribute to an essential commercial operation within the ACT Government.

Capital Linen Service has provided commercial linen hire and laundry services across Canberra and the surrounding region since 1978.

Operating from a modern industrial facility in Mitchell, we support more than 120 health, aged care and accommodation providers and process more than 7,200 tonnes of linen each year.

Our people are central to our success. We take pride in delivering reliable, high-quality services while maintaining a supportive, respectful and safety-focused workplace.

  • Assist CLS managers and supervisors with guidance, support and training as required on employment matters.
  • Undertake research, investigation and analysis and prepare clear, evidence-based correspondence, briefs, reports and case documentation.
  • Appropriately manage sensitive or complex workplace issues.
  • Build effective working relationships across Capital Linen Service, the broader City and Environment Directorate and external service providers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR systems, processes and the employee experience.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.
