Job description

ABOUT US

KIVARI is an accessible designer brand with deep coastal roots, founded in Sydney in 2014. Every piece is designed by our team in Australia and crafted with sustainability in mind. With signature design handwriting, quality craft and considered details, we inspire women to feel confident and authentically themselves. Community comes first, quality always. It's how we design, and it's how we work - a warm environment where creativity thrives as we grow across the globe.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced, commercially minded Senior HR Business Partner to join KIVARI and help shape the next chapter of our People & Culture journey. Partnering directly with our CEO and senior leadership team, you'll take ownership of all things people across our Head Office and national boutique network.

This is a truly hands-on, end-to-end role where big-picture thinking meets everyday action. You'll be just as comfortable advising on complex people matters and driving exciting new initiatives as you are rolling up your sleeves and managing the day-to-day detail. From strategy through to execution, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact.

You're a natural relationship builder who brings confidence, sound judgement and a genuine passion for people. Commercially savvy and solutions-focused, you know how to balance business needs with doing what's right for our teams. You thrive in a dynamic, growing business, aren't afraid to challenge constructively and love empowering leaders to bring out the best in their people.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

  • Strategic & commercial HR partnership - Partner with the CEO and senior leaders to deliver commercially aligned people initiatives, providing proactive advice on workforce planning, people risks and business priorities.

  • Employee relations & compliance - Independently manage complex employee relations matters, performance, investigations and employment compliance across Head Office and retail.

  • Leadership & performance - Coach leaders to confidently manage teams, feedback and accountability, while driving annual performance reviews, appraisals and development initiatives.

  • HR operations & employee lifecycle - Own end-to-end HR processes, including contracts, onboarding, probation, employee documentation, work rights compliance and offboarding, in partnership with Payroll.

  • Engagement, culture & employee experience - Lead engagement and feedback surveys, action planning, wellbeing, benefits and cultural initiatives that strengthen our values and employee experience.

  • Policy, governance & compliance - Develop, review and maintain HR policies, procedures and employment documentation, ensuring consistent application across the business.

  • Workforce planning & change - Partner with leaders on organisational development, succession planning, retention and change management.

  • Talent & onboarding partnership - Work closely with our internal Talent Acquisition Partner to support a seamless recruitment-to-onboarding experience and employee retention.

  • People insights & reporting - Maintain accurate people data and provide meaningful workforce reporting to guide leadership decisions.

  • HR systems & improvement - Lead HRIS implementation, adoption and ongoing optimisation, improving workflows, reporting, automation and operational efficiencies.

  • WHS & psychosocial safety - Partner with operational leaders and external advisers to strengthen workplace safety, psychosocial risk management and compliance.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 4+ years' experience in an HR Business Partner, Senior HRBP or P&C Manager role, with proven experience independently managing a broad HR function.

  • Experience in a retail or multi-site environment, ideally within fashion, with strong commercial acumen.

  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards and complex employee relations.

  • Proven ability to balance strategic HR partnership with hands-on, end-to-end operational delivery.

  • Confidence advising, influencing and constructively challenging senior leadership.

  • Experience developing leadership capability, managing performance frameworks and delivering people initiatives.

  • Experience with HRIS implementation, employee engagement programs and continuous improvement highly regarded.

  • Strong professional judgement, integrity and discretion when navigating sensitive people matters; a proactive, pragmatic and adaptable approach with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Relevant qualifications in HR, Law or a related discipline highly regarded.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A creative, collaborative environment - a close-knit team in our new Rosebery office, direct access to the people making decisions, and the space to bring ideas forward and see them happen.

  • Real growth - as KIVARI expands worldwide, we’re committed to helping you develop your skills and your career.

  • Real support - a paid day off for your birthday, a monthly team lunch on us, and 24/7 confidential support through our EAP.

  • Purpose - we design with intention, make with sustainability in mind, and stay close to the community and the coastline that shaped us.

  • Competitive package - salary plus a generous team member discount and a quarterly uniform allowance.
