Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking Senior Client Service Officers in Housing Services, Northern District. Locations include Tuggerah, Newcastle, Lismore and Tweed Heads. Salary ranges from $102,936 to $113,597 plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

Ongoing and temporary talent pool opportunities are available. Two streams exist: Specialist in Private Rental Pathways and Generalist across Tenancy/Local Access/Letting.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing, human services or related field.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to navigate complex situations and competing priorities.
• Demonstrated administrative skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• A current driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior support to help clients access housing assistance and sustain tenancies.
• Respond to complex tenancy, housing assistance, allocation, letting and client enquiries.
• Work with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure consistent service delivery.
• Coach and mentor Client Service Officers to strengthen service delivery and policy application.
• Provide expert advice to leadership on complex matters to support timely, high-quality responses.
• Exercise delegated decision-making within policy and legislative requirements.
