Job summary

Churches of Christ in Queensland is seeking a Senior Home Care Worker – Qualified to deliver compassionate, client-centered in-home care across Warwick and surrounds. You will assist with daily tasks, medications, companionship, and community transport, while supporting care plan reviews and mentoring junior staff.

The role requires Certificate III in Individual Support or higher, current First Aid/CPR, and a valid Australian driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in direct support.
  • Current Australian work rights (no sponsorship available).
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or higher; Medication qualification or willingness to obtain.
  • First Aid and CPR qualification required or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, client-centered care in clients' homes.
  • Assist with medications, personal care, and daily tasks.
  • Support with household tasks: cleaning, meals, shopping.
  • Provide transportation support to appointments and activities.
  • Mentor and train fellow Home Care Workers; participate in care plan reviews.

About the role

Churches of Christ are currently looking for caring and reliable Senior Home Care Workers.
You will provide compassionate, client-centered care to individuals in their homes with everyday tasks, companionship, medication and social support as well as some office-based responsibilities.

There will be times when you’ll contribute to planning and coordination from our office. As a senior team member, you will also be available for on-call support as the need arises, ensuring that clients receive the highest standard of care when they need it most.

As a Senior Home Care Worker, you will:

  • Provide friendly companionship and emotional support to clients in their homes
  • Assist with medications and personal cares
  • Assist with household tasks such as light cleaning, meal preparation, and shopping.
  • Support clients with transport to appointments and community activities.
  • Encourage independence and well-being in a home environment.
  • Participate in the review of client care plans, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate
  • Train and mentor Home Care Workers, including completing annual performance appraisals

What we're looking for

Are you somebody who is passionate about delivering quality Home Care services to the local community? Do you excel at providing personalised assistance to clients, helping them maintain their independence and enhancing their quality of life within their chosen community?

  • Is reliable, adaptable and has well developed communication skills – occasional early starts are required so this role will not suit school hours workers
  • Currently holds the below qualifications
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or higher (Certificate IV or Diploma preferred)
  • Medication qualified - or willing to obtain
  • Currently holds a First Aid and CPR qualification
  • Currently holds, or willing to obtain a current Police Check
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in direct support required
  • A current driver's license and a reliable, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for work purposes are essential for this role.(Reimbursement of $0.96 per KM is provided for use of own vehicle)
  • Hold a valid Australian Work Rights - Unfortunately we are not currently able to sponsor
