Job summary

Churches of Christ Home Care Wide Bay Region Bundaberg & Hervey Bay, QLD is seeking Senior Home Care Workers to support clients in their homes with personal care, meals, transport and social activities.

You will train and mentor team members, contribute to care plans, and ensure documentation is complete while upholding our values of integrity, compassion and excellence in a not-for-profit environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance (showering, dressing, toileting).
• Assist clients with medications and general domestic tasks.
• Prepare and cook in-home meals with food safety in mind.
• Provide social support including transport and outings.
• Review client care plans, keep documentation up to date, report health changes.
• Train and mentor Home Care Workers.
• Operate in line with the Positive Wellbeing Model of Care.

About the Role

Home Care Wide Bay Region is seeking caring and reliable individuals to support clients in their homes with everyday tasks, companionship and community engagement. If you enjoy helping others and want to make a positive difference, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Senior Home Care Worker, you will:

• Provide personal care assistance to clients for example showering, dressing and toileting.
• Assist clients with medications.
• Provide general domestic assistance; assist in the preparation and cooking of in-home meals; ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety standards.
• Provide social support to clients by providing transport, assisting with social outings, shopping etc.
• Participate in the review of client care plans; ensure documentation is complete and accurate; report observed changes to client health.
• Train and Mentor Home Care Workers.
• Perform position responsibilities and support others in accordance with the Positive Wellbeing Model of Care.

What We're Looking For

This role is ideal for someone who is caring, dependable and enjoys supporting others. You'll bring a positive outlook, strong values and a commitment to enhancing the lives of those you assist.

• Has a caring nature, positive attitude and strong communication skills.
• Demonstrates reliability, flexibility, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
• Holds Certificate III or IV in Individual Support.
• Holds a current driver's license and a reliable, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for work purposes are essential for this role.(Reimbursement of $0.96 per KM is provided for use of own vehicle)
• Holds a current Police Check or is willing to obtain one.
• Hold a valid Australian Work Rights - Unfortunately we are not currently able to sponsor
