Job summary

Lockheed Martin Australia is seeking a System Safety Engineer to join the AIR6500 T2B FADS program, a next-generation defence capability that will transform Australia's air and missile defence.

You will apply system safety engineering within a systems engineering environment, ensuring hazards are identified, analysed, and controlled across complex, safety‑critical capabilities throughout the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Must have systems engineering and system safety focus.
• Experience performing hazard analysis and safety risk assessments.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E and safety case development.

Responsibilities

• Perform system safety engineering activities across the program lifecycle.
• Conduct hazard analysis and safety risk assessments (FMEA, FTA, hazard log).
• Develop and maintain system safety documentation for certification and test readiness.
• Contribute to safety cases and assurance artefacts.
• Review designs and concepts to ensure safety requirements are defined and verifiable.
