Job summary

AusNet is seeking a Senior Health and Safety Manager to lead client-side HSE oversight of AGJV as WRL's EPC delivery partner, ensuring safe design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. You will mentor the HSE team, drive audits and field inspections, coordinate regulatory responses and support incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or diploma in Health and Safety, engineering, construction management or a related discipline.
• Senior Health and Safety leadership on complex, multi-contractor infrastructure projects, preferably transmission, utilities or linear infrastructure.
• Strong client-side or EPC/D&C contractor- assurance experience, including subcontractor oversight and critical-control verification.
• Demonstrated experience leading Health and Safety audits and significant incident investigations, including causal analysis and corrective-action verification.
• Experience in Safety in Design, construction readiness, electrical/operational interfaces, commissioning and emergency preparedness.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-side Health and Safety oversight of AGJV as WRL’s EPC delivery partner, ensuring systems, people and field practices support safe design, procurement, construction and handover.
• Provide practical, independent advice to the Head of Delivery and support appropriate controls and evidenced resolution of Health and Safety issues.
• Lead a risk-based HSE assurance program focused on AGJV and subcontractors, with coverage of AusNet-led works.
• Mentor the Health and Safety team, set priorities, and develop capability through coaching and feedback.
• Plan, conduct and report contractor Health and Safety audits and field inspections; verify critical controls and safe work method statements in practice.
