Job summary

Pitcrew AI in Newcastle designs and builds Autonomous Inspection Systems for mine sites globally. We are seeking a hands‑on Hardware Engineer to lead electrical and power system design, provide technical leadership to technicians and contractors, and support deployed systems across Australia and overseas.

You will work under the Head of Hardware Engineering and Operations, design off‑grid solar and battery systems, produce AutoCAD drawings and Onshape models, mentor juniors, and help advance our

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on hardware engineering across design, build and commissioning.
• Experience sizing standalone solar and battery systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of electrical and power systems, preparing designs, calculations and drawings.
• Design off-grid solar and battery systems and LV/DC architectures.
• Produce electrical drawings in AutoCAD and CAD models in Onshape.
• Lead safety in design, risk assessments, and reviews.
• Mentor technicians, manage suppliers, and support deployed systems.
