Job summary

Queensland Government, Office of the Public Guardian, seeks a guardian services professional to support adults with impaired decision-making capacity. You will undertake structured decision making, assist in health care decisions, and maintain accurate guardianship documentation.

Role includes liaising with stakeholders, contributing to community education, and presenting at events to promote rights and protections for vulnerable groups. Travel to regional sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structured decision making adhering to organisational policies and legislative frameworks.
• Participate in health care decision making, including working weekends and public holidays as required.
• Ensure all client-related documentation and guardianship activities are recorded accurately (reports, decisions, visit notes).
• Provide professional level advice and support to the Public Guardian and delegates on positive behaviours support and restrictive practices.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including community groups and government bodies involved with guardianship.
• Represent the Public Guardian in community education and public speaking engagements.
