Job summary

Akaysha Energy pty in Australia is seeking an electrical/power systems engineer to lead end-to-end grid connection processes for our 850MW Waratah Super Battery projects and future developments.

You will collaborate with Commercial and Engineering to optimise designs, liaise with OEMs and regulators, and shape technical performance standards to ensure designs meet NEM and Australian standards while enabling reliable long-term asset operation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in renewables or electrical engineering on utility-scale projects.
• Solid knowledge of NEM grid connection processes and Australian standards.
• Familiar with power system modelling tools (PSSE/PSCAD/PowerFactory).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end connection applications: enquiries, standards, modelling, validation and submissions.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Engineering to optimise designs and grid connection planning.
• Liaise with OEMs, external consultants and AEMO/NSPs to troubleshoot models and performance.
• Negotiate technical performance standards with AEMO/NSPs balancing long-term asset operation with regs.
• Keep up-to-date with new rules and shape responses to proposed changes.
