Job summary

Akaysha Energy is advancing the Waratah Super Battery project and seeks a Connection Applications Lead to own end-to-end grid connection processes. You will work across Commercial and Engineering to ensure project settings are right from day one and optimise grid connection planning.

You will liaise with OEMs, consultants and AEMO/NSPs to resolve model performance, negotiate standards, and stay ahead of regulatory changes. This role is hybrid in Australia.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical, Control or Power Systems Engineering is required.
• Hands-on renewables or electrical engineering experience on utility-scale projects is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of NEM grid connection processes and Australian standards.
• Familiarity with power system modelling tools such as PSSE, PSCAD or PowerFactory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Connection Application process end to end, including enquiries, standards, design packages, validation and registration submissions.
• Collaborate with Business Developers and Engineering to optimise project designs and grid connection planning.
• Liaise with OEMs and external consultants, troubleshooting models and performance.
• Negotiate technical performance standards with AEMO/NSPs, balancing long-term operation with regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with new rules and contribute to responses to proposed changes.
