Job summary

Akaysha Energy is accelerating the energy transition with utility-scale grid projects, including the 850MW Waratah Super Battery. You will lead end-to-end connection applications, collaborating with Commercial and Engineering to optimize designs and grid connections.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical, Control or Power Systems Engineering.
• Hands-on renewables or electrical engineering experience, ideally on utility-scale projects.
• Solid knowledge of NEM grid connection processes and Australian engineering standards.
• Familiarity with power system modelling tools PSSE, PSCAD or PowerFactory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Connection Application process end to end, including Connection Enquiries, Generator Performance Standards, design and modelling packages, validation, Hold Point testing and registration submissions
• Work with Business Developers and Engineering to optimise project designs, equipment selection and grid connection planning
• Liaise directly with OEMs, external consultants and AEMO/NSPs, troubleshooting power system models and control system performance
• Negotiate technical performance standards with AEMO and NSPs, balancing our long-term operation of the asset against regulatory requirements
• Keep across new rules and regulations, and help shape our responses to proposed changes
