Job summary

World Vision Australia is seeking a Senior Grant Accountant to provide financial support for grants and contracts. You will influence decisions, build financial capacity in field offices and ensure donor compliance.

The role requires strong analytical and stakeholder management skills within an NGO context. The successful candidate will lead budgeting, donor guidelines, financial modelling, and reporting to donors while collaborating with contract managers and field offices to ensure robust

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience ideally within an international or multilateral organisation.
• Experience managing institutional donor contracts and compliance.
• Experience building and interpreting financial models in a commercial setting.
• Industry knowledge of international NGOs, commercial contracting and/or carbon markets.
• Microsoft Office 365 including Power BI.
• Experience in auditing.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance or other relevant discipline.
• Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain budget and donor guidelines to support acquisitions process.
• Ability to conduct financial modelling and data analysis for commercial contracts and opportunities.
• Identify financial risks during proposal development and mitigate them or escape as appropriate.
• Support field offices and contract managers with project financial management advice including foreign currency, cash flow, budget management and donor specific financial requirements.
• Lead the development and delivery of training programmes for building financial capacity with field offices, including donor specific requirements.
• Leverage tools and reports to improve internal financial controls and processes.
• Prepare financial acquittals in line with donor requirements and submit for review and sign-off in a timely manner.
• Improve efficiency of financial processes with principle of good stewardship.
• Knowledge of key policies and practices that inform contract compliance.
• Build rapport and become a trusted advisor to business stakeholders.
• Influence decision makers to be principle focused and consider overall impact to the mission.

As the Senior Grant Accountant, you will be accountable for financial support of grants and contracts. Utilising a high degree of commercial acumen, problem solving, financial modelling and stakeholder management you will enable the robust financial design and management of field projects.

Your role plays an integral part in the organisation, tackling global issues and supporting our mission to empower Australians to create meaningful change for the world’s most vulnerable.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development and maintenance of budget and donor guidelines to support the acquisitions process.
