Job summary

DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager at the EL1 equivalent level to support a significant transformation program within a Federal Government agency. You will lead complex ICT delivery projects, coordinating business teams, technical specialists and delivery partners to achieve outcomes.

You will report to an EL2 and manage delivery from planning through to transition into operations, ensuring governance, risk management and commercial delivery are integrated throughout the

Qualifications

• 5–8 years’ experience establishing and managing technical ICT delivery projects.
• Experience delivering major COTS or enterprise platform implementations involving integration, data migration, testing and production transition.
• Strong capability in integrated planning, delivery tracking and cross-workstream dependency management.
• Proven ability to identify delivery risks, resolve blockers and elevate matters requiring senior decisions.
• Experience managing vendors and commercial delivery obligations.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, decision-ready reporting for senior stakeholders.
• Recent experience applying contemporary project management and governance frameworks.
• Project management experience within Federal or State Government.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and an industry-recognised project management qualification, such as a Diploma of Project Management or SAFe Agile certification.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining integrated project plans with schedules and milestones.
• Managing delivery across business, technology and vendor workstreams within time and budget.
• Supporting project design, governance arrangements and operational integration.
• Identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies.
• Preparing business cases, executive briefs and project reports.
• Coordinating governance forums and maintaining action items and accountabilities.
• Monitoring budgets and expenditure, and overseeing procurement and contract management.
• Managing vendor commitments against contracts and deliverables.
• Coordinating quality assurance and transition into production.
• Building relationships with senior stakeholders and external providers.
