Qualifications

• 5+ years of senior backend engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Go or Java for high-concurrency systems.
• Production experience with Temporal or equivalent durable workflow orchestration frameworks.
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL, plus gRPC/Protocol Buffers.
• Experience modernizing batch architectures toward real-time data processing and event-driven systems.
• Willingness to work onsite in Melbourne for the first 2–4 weeks and obtain visa if needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and modernization of scalable backend services.
• Build durable workflows with Temporal or similar frameworks for long-running processes.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries; implement robust gRPC/Protobuf APIs.
• Drive cloud modernization using AWS, Kubernetes, and EKS for resilient services.
• Ensure security, reliability, observability, and production readiness.
