Job summary

Essential Energy seeks a Senior GIS Specialist to develop GIS and spatial solutions, provide expert support, and guide system enhancements across its operational footprint. The role collaborates with ICT and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and ensure successful delivery.

The position requires extensive GIS/IT experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex workloads while supporting data integrity and regulatory needs.

Qualifications

Extensive IT experience in construction, energy/electrical or utilities.
Experience with GIS data structures, relational databases, system interfaces and design.
Experience with the software development lifecycle and source-code version management.

Responsibilities

Analyse GIS-related business requirements and translate to technical requirements.
Advise on feasibility, costs and benefits of system enhancements.
Design and develop technical solutions meeting requirements and manage versions.
Coordinate testing of enhancements and develop test plans.
Develop and deliver training for GIS applications.
Create spatial reports and import/export routines for regulatory needs.
