Job summary

Essential Energy is seeking a Senior GIS Specialist to join the team. The role focuses on developing GIS solutions, testing externally developed GIS tools, and delivering specialist spatial data services to users and stakeholders across our operations within Australia.

The role requires extensive GIS/IT experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex workloads with effective stakeholder engagement. A strong background in energy or utilities is preferred.

Qualifications

Advanced IT or spatial information qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience with GIS data structures, databases and interfaces.
Knowledge of lifecycle, version control and system development.

Responsibilities

Analyse GIS requirements and translate into technical specs for development.
Advise on feasibility, costs and benefits of system enhancements.
Design and develop GIS solutions meeting requirements and version control.
Coordinate testing and test plan development for enhancements.
Develop training for GIS applications across the business.
Create spatial reports and import/export routines for compliance and decision making.
