Job summary

Harmony Australasia is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to identify geotechnical hazards and mitigate risks at CSA Mine in Cobar, NSW. You will develop practical strategies for ground support, monitoring systems, and backfill operations to support safe and efficient underground production.

Reporting to the Geotechnical, Survey & Backfill Superintendent, you will contribute to long-term mine design, maintain geotechnical records, and mentor junior staff while ensuring compliance with

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining, Geology, Civil or related Engineering field.
• 5–10 years of experience in underground mining with ≥5 years in a geotechnical role.
• Familiarisation with backfill design and inrush controls.
• Experience with seismic monitoring and geotechnical software.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve geotechnical/backfill processes for safe, efficient mine operation.
• Ensure all geotechnical/backfill aspects meet company standards and regulations.
• Develop and maintain geotechnical records and monitoring systems.
• Provide input into long-term mine design and 3MRS/LOM/LOA.
• Mentor and develop the geotechnical team.
