Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our Newcastle team to deliver technically challenging tailings, dam, mine waste, and geotechnical projects across Australia. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, engage directly with clients, and drive technical excellence while mentoring engineers.

The role emphasizes project leadership, business development, and adherence to QMS and HSE requirements. Hybrid work arrangements are available across Australia.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical focus.
• ~15+ years of geotechnical/tailings/dam experience in consulting or mining.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage client relationships.
• Chartered status or eligibility is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, assessment, and management of tailings storage facilities and water-related earthworks.
• Provide senior technical leadership and review for geotechnical, tailings, and dam projects.
• Fulfill Engineer of Record roles for appropriate facilities.
• Mentor graduates and junior engineers; contribute to business development.
