Job summary

Alliance Geotechnical Pty seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex projects in Sydney, from investigation through CPS. You will guide project teams, coordinate drill rigs and subcontractors, and contribute to tenders and client liaison.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8–10+ years of geotechnical engineering or engineering geology experience.
• Member of a relevant professional body; Chartered status preferred.
• Two specialisations within geotechnical engineering required.
• Proven track record managing large or complex projects with subcontractors.
• Experience preparing tenders and proposals; strong client focus.
• Mentor and train junior engineers; organised and commercially minded.
• Safety-focused; experience with WHS standards and IMS practices.
• Current White Card and Drivers Licence

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical projects end-to-end; act as PM on complex work.
• Coordinate drill rigs, subcontractors, and site investigations.
• Prepare and contribute to tenders and proposals.
• Train and direct engineers in field techniques and reporting.
• Review interpretative reports and CPS inspections.
• Build strong client relationships through site meetings.
• Ensure projects stay on time, on budget and to standard.
• Champion safety and quality across sites.
