Job summary

Geonalysis in Western Sydney seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead project delivery, technical reporting and client support. You will own projects, supervise fieldwork, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safe, practical geotechnical solutions for clients across New South Wales.

The role requires a solid technical foundation, excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ local experience in geotechnical consulting, investigations, analysis and reporting.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards, soil and rock mechanics and geotechnical interpretation.
• Proven field capability with supervision of drilling contractors and investigation programs.
• Excellent technical writing, communication and verbal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver commercially practical outcomes.
• Experience preparing factual and interpretive geotechnical reports.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel for fieldwork.

• Plan, coordinate and oversee geotechnical investigation projects through to completion.
• Undertake soil and rock logging in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements.
• Analyse field and laboratory data and prepare clear, practical geotechnical reports and recommendations.
• Prepare factual and interpretive geotechnical reports
• Review draft reports prepared by junior engineers.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, subcontractors and client communications.
• Mentor and support developing engineers.
• Support business development through building strong client relationships
• Promote a strong safety, quality and continuous improvement culture across site and office activities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to take a leading role in project delivery, technical reporting and client support. This position suits a confident engineer who has developed a solid technical foundation and is able to take ownership of projects, work and build relationships with our clients.
