Job summary

WSP is expanding its Geo-Environmental Engineering team in Australia and seeks a Senior to Senior Associate-level Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our Sydney office. This hybrid role offers flexibility to lead a talented technical team while building strong client relationships across Australia.

You will shape and deliver projects in civil infrastructure, waste, water, and mining sectors, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring technical excellence in design and risk management.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering with at least 7 years' experience.
• Experience delivering high-quality, detailed design documentation.
• Technical expertise in waste management design (landfills, leachate systems, geosynthetics).
• Ability to assess subsurface environmental risks, embankments and complex earthworks.
• Proficiency in using design software to produce constructible, compliant designs.
• Strong communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver geo-environmental projects focused on waste management, water infrastructure and mining.
• Develop cutting-edge solutions for geo-environmental challenges within civil infrastructure.
• Prepare and review technical documentation across planning, design and execution phases.
• Build and maintain client relationships across Australia to support delivery and BD.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Oversee quality, risk management and project delivery to achieve repeat business.
