Job summary

NSW Health Pathology’s Genetics Laboratory in Randwick is seeking two permanent full-time Senior Scientific Officers to interpret and report a broad range of genomic tests, ensuring accurate, timely results within a NAC-accredited framework.

You will monitor turnaround times, develop and review reporting policies, and implement updates to report templates, contributing to high-quality genomic diagnostics in a supportive, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Science/MLS or equivalent.
• Recent genomic data interpretation and diagnostic reporting experience.
• Strong communication with customers, patients and staff across roles.
• Proven leadership and operational management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Pathology LIS and QA systems.
• Experience with accreditation frameworks and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate training and quality management to ensure standards.
• Review and develop reporting policies and templates.
• Monitor turnaround times and drive improvements in testing workflows.
• Lead and manage staff and resources across the laboratory.
