Job summary

Westpac in Sydney is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join Pacific Banking Technology, modernising banking services across Fiji and Papua New Guinea. The role focuses on full stack development with emphasis on cloud, backend integration and designing secure solutions.

You will build APIs, microservices and event-based integrations, support cloud platforms and automation, review engineering work and vendor designs, and ensure security, reliability, performance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Full stack capability with Java or .NET across apps, integration, data, infra, security.
• Experience designing APIs, microservices, event-based integrations.
• Hands-on AWS or Azure and container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Strong SQL Server and PostgreSQL skills incl. tuning.
• DevSecOps coverage across CI/CD, testing, security scanning.
• Strong design and communication of technical decisions.
• Banking domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute across design, build, release, support and improvement.
• Review engineering work and vendor designs.
• Help ensure security, reliability, performance and compliance.
• Assess end-to-end solutions beyond customer interfaces.
