Job summary

Talenza is partnering with a leading technology organisation to appoint a Senior Full Stack Developer to join its Melbourne-based engineering team. This hands-on senior role has a strong backend focus, designing and developing scalable software, APIs and database solutions while contributing to front-end development when required.

You'll work closely with Engineering, Product and Design teams, help shape development standards and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

6+ years' experience with C# and/or VB.Net.
6+ years' experience with PostgreSQL and MS-SQL, including optimisation and data management.
Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of database design, queries and optimisation.
3+ years' experience with React.
Experience with Flux or Redux.
Familiarity with React Hooks, particularly for testing.
Experience with front-end testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha or Jasmine.
Strong knowledge of performance optimisation techniques.
Working knowledge of Figma and experience working with Product and Design teams.
Experience with design systems or component libraries such as Material UI or NextUI is advantageous.
AngularJS experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining backend services, APIs and server-side logic using C# and VB.Net.
Designing and optimising database solutions using PostgreSQL and MS-SQL.
Optimising SQL queries, APIs and backend processes for performance, scalability and reliability.
Collaborating with Product Managers, Product Designers and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
Participating in code reviews and contributing to engineering standards and development practices.
Implementing unit and integration testing across backend services and supporting front-end testing using Jest, Mocha or Jasmine.
Working with Flux or Redux for application state management.
Contributing to application and system performance optimisation.
Evaluating emerging technologies and recommending improvements where appropriate.
Mentoring, coaching and supporting more junior software engineers.
Keeping up to date with modern technologies and software engineering practices.
