Job summary

Brighte is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Sydney to design, develop, test, and maintain features across React and Node.js, within an AI-first culture. You’ll work with product, design, and data teams to ship impactful user experiences and contribute to a scalable microservices architecture.

The role emphasizes embedding AI capabilities, collaboration, mentoring, and improving engineering practices, while requiring in-office presence in Sydney.

Qualifications

• ~8 years years of professional experience as a Full Stack Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js (REST APIs, async patterns, performance tuning).
• Deep experience with React (hooks, state management, component architecture).
• Hands-on experience building and operating microservices in production.
• Solid understanding of API design, database modelling, and distributed systems along with CI/CD, testing, security and compliance.
• Experience in the AI space building on LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), RAG pipelines, or AI agents and an AI-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across our React frontend and Node.js backend services.
• Architect and evolve microservices with a focus on reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
• Integrate AI capabilities (LLMs, agents, intelligent tooling) into product features and internal workflows.
• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to deliver high-quality user experiences.
• Contribute to technical roadmap discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and help raise the bar across the team.
