Job summary

Trace in Sydney is seeking a mid-to-senior full stack engineer to help us build a platform that enables Australian businesses to produce audit-ready climate disclosures. You’ll own parts of our Compliance Hub and work with AI agents to ship end-to-end features in a fast-paced startup environment.

This role offers a competitive salary with stock options and a Sydney hybrid pattern: one day per week in the office, with the rest flexible between home and a local cafe or coworking space.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building and shipping production software.
• Genuinely full stack – comfortable in the frontend, backend and data layer.
• Able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ship features across the stack in the Compliance Hub.
• Turn loose product conversations into production work without a hand-off spec.
• Direct coding agents across projects, scope contexts and review results.
• Build and improve internal tooling, prompts and harnesses.
• Help determine where AI agents belong in the product and where a deterministic system is needed.
• Review teammates’ work, both human and agent-written, to set quality standards.
• Collaborate with the consulting team to align with client standards.
