Job summary

Brighte, Sydney-based, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, test and maintain software from polished React interfaces to robust Node.js microservices. We operate in an AI-first culture where engineers embed intelligent tooling and AI capabilities into products and workflows.

You will collaborate closely with product, design and data teams to ship meaningful user experiences, contribute to our microservices architecture, and help raise the engineering bar across the team.

Qualifications

• Approximately 8 years of professional full stack engineering experience.
• Strong Node.js expertise for REST APIs and performance tuning.
• Deep React knowledge including hooks and state management.
• Hands-on experience building and operating production microservices.
• Solid understanding of API design, databases, distributed systems, CI/CD, testing, security.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full‑stack features across React frontend and Node.js backend.
• Architect and evolve microservices with reliability and scalability in mind.
• Integrate AI capabilities into product features and workflows.

About the Role

Senior Full Stack Engineers at Brighte design, develop, test, and maintain software across the full stack from polished React interfaces to robust Node.js microservices. We work in an AI-first culture where engineers proactively look for opportunities to embed intelligent tooling and AI capabilities into our products and workflows.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams to ship meaningful user-facing experiences, contribute to our microservices architecture, and help raise the engineering bar across the team.

Please note we can only consider candidates who are Sydney-based as this role requires in-office presence.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across our React frontend and Node.js backend services
• Architect and evolve microservices with a focus on reliability, scalability, and developer experience
• Integrate AI capabilities (LLMs, agents, intelligent tooling) into product features and internal workflows
• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to deliver high-quality user experiences
• Contribute to technical roadmap discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices
• Mentor mid-level engineers and help raise the bar across the team

What You’ll Bring

• ~8 years years of professional experience as a Full Stack Engineer
• Strong proficiency in Node.js (REST APIs, async patterns, performance tuning)
• Deep experience with React (hooks, state management, component architecture)
• Hands-on experience building and operating microservices in production
• Solid understanding of API design, database modelling, and distributed systems along with experience with CI/CD, testing, security and compliance
• Experience in the AI space building on LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), RAG pipelines, or AI agents and an AI-first mindset, actively looking for ways to apply AI thoughtfully
• Customer-centric thinker who cares deeply about user experience
• Hungry to learn new skills, share knowledge with your team and expand your horizon
• You communicate ideas clearly, especially to those not technologically proficient
