About the Role

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you’ll design and deliver high-quality web, mobile, and backend systems while setting the benchmark for technical excellence across the engineering team. This role is for someone who thrives in complex systems, is confident working across the full stack, and enjoys mentoring and guiding other engineers.

You’ll work across React, React Native, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL and GCP, owning features end-to-end, from architecture through to deployment. You’ll collaborate closely with product and design, champion engineering standards, and play a critical role in shaping AutoGrab’s technology direction as we continue to scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web and mobile applications using React, React Native, TypeScript, and Node.js, along with backend services built on PostgreSQL and GCP.
• Design, optimise, and maintain databases, including schema design, performance tuning, and robust integrations.
• Own features end-to-end from architecture and design, through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimisation.
• Set the standard for code quality, conducting and contributing to code reviews with a strong focus on testing practices, maintainability, reliability, security, and performance.
• Mentor and guide other engineers, supporting their growth through pairing, knowledge-sharing, and coaching in modern engineering practices.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, sales, and operations—to define, design, and deliver meaningful features and improvements.
• Implement security and data protection measures, ensuring our systems follow best practices and comply with relevant privacy regulations. Champion technical excellence, contributing to architectural decisions, CI/CD improvements, and scalable system design.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues, taking ownership of problems and driving solutions with speed, care, and attention to detail.

Agentic Engineering

We expect our engineers to work fluently with AI and agentic coding tools, and we hire for it explicitly. This is not about using AI to write code faster for its own sake, we need strong operators of these tools: directing them, reviewing their output critically, and using them efficiently. In this role you will:

• Use agentic coding tools as a core part of how you work, driving them with clear intent rather than being led by them, and owning everything you ship regardless of how it was produced.
• Apply sound judgement about where AI accelerates delivery and where it introduces risk, never shipping code you do not understand.
• Help establish and model good agentic engineering practice across the squad patterns, guardrails and review habits that keep quality high as AI usage grows.

About You

• 5+ years experience as a Senior Software Engineer with strong capability across both front-end and backend development.
• Deep proficiency in React, React Native, Typescript, Node.js, and server-side programming.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, with a solid understanding of modern software engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritise complex technical challenges.
• Strong communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience owning significant product features or systems from concept to production.

Preferred Skills

• Experience building scalable, high-performance, and resilient systems.
• Familiarity with cloud services, particularly GCP.
• Experience contributing to mobile application deployment and release processes across iOS and Android platforms, including TestFlight and app store releases.
• Experience working in data rich environments, ideally with large datasets powering analytics, insights, or pricing models.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience in fast-paced, collaborative environments, working closely with product managers, designers, and other disciplines.
• A track record of mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and uplifting engineering teams.
• Proactive, autonomous, and driven by ownership, consistently delivering impactful results.
