Job summary

The University of Newcastle is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer / Senior DevOps Engineer to provide technical leadership across cloud platforms, application development and integration services. This is a hands-on role focused on designing, building and supporting modern technology solutions while mentoring other engineers.

You’ll work across AWS, CI/CD, and modern web development, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver outcomes and evolve the university’s technology platforms.

Qualifications

Senior software engineer with experience across development, cloud and operations.
Experience leading and mentoring a small technical team.
Strong AWS, software engineering and DevOps background; ownership from design to deployment.

Responsibilities

Design, build and operate solutions on AWS.
Build and support backend, integration and web apps.
Develop cloud infrastructure using IaC and automation.
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.
Work with stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
