Job summary

Domain is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Sydney to drive high-quality software development and architectural direction. You will design scalable, performant web applications, write and review code, and align technical solutions with our broader engineering strategy.

You’ll leverage React, TypeScript, and Next.js to build complex features, mentor engineers, and raise engineering quality standards. You will collaborate with Product and Design teams, participate in on-call rotations, and

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience building scalable, high-traffic web apps using Micro Frontends, SPA, and SSR.
• Experience with GraphQL, cloud-native technologies (AWS), containerisation (Docker), and modern CI/CD practices.
• Proficiency in designing and delivering high-quality software solutions within Agile development environments.
• Collaborative mindset with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and drive engineering best practices.
• Security: Familiarity with OWASP security practices.

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality, scalable solutions, applying modern engineering practices.
• Demonstrate strong expertise in web performance optimisation, including Core Web Vitals.
• Address technical debt, improve system performance, and influence engineering standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with Product and Design teams.
• Own on-call rotations, incident responses, and improve system reliability and security.
