Job summary

MARS Recruitment is partnering with a growing financial services group to appoint a Senior Financial Modelling Manager. This role owns critical financial models, driving analytics that shape senior decision-making.

You will work across Finance, Treasury, FP&A and data, influencing planning, forecasting and reporting. The role demands 10+ years in financial modelling, strong NIM and profitability modelling, and a hands-on approach to build robust multi‑way models with AI-enabled analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years' experience in a similar function.
• Proven track record of building and running sophisticated financial models from scratch within a financial services organisation (essential).
• Must have experience in building models across NIM, profitability, pricing and budgeting.
• Advanced reporting, Excel and financial modelling capability, with experience using AI tools.
• Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial analysis.
• The ability to translate complex data into clear, commercially relevant insights.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• CA/CPA/CFA qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Experience with Snowflake, Macros & VBA is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Net Interest Margin (NIM) modelling - build, maintain and enhance sophisticated NIM models.
• Profitability modelling - develop detailed profitability analysis across products and business.
• Pricing & risk-based modelling - support pricing decisions through financial and risk analysis.
• Budget & forecasting modelling - own budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting models.
• 3-way financial modelling - develop integrated P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow models.
• Build complex models from scratch with best-practice architecture.
• Provide product-level analysis across NIM, profitability and NPAT for strategic decisions.
• Translate financial data into meaningful commercial insights with stakeholders.
• Enhance reporting, dashboards and BI capabilities, automating processes.
• Oversee key monthly reporting, variance analysis and Finance Board reporting.
• Provide ad-hoc financial modelling support to senior management.

MARS are proudly partnering an established and growing financial services company to appoint a newly created position as a Senior Financial Modelling Manager. This person will take ownership of some of the organisation's most critical financial models and analytics.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, this is a hands‑on modelling role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, understanding what drives a business and turning complex financial information into insights that influence senior decision‑making.

You’ll sit at the intersection of Finance, Treasury, FP&A and data, with the opportunity to shape how the business plans, forecasts, reports and makes commercial decisions.

The Responsibilities:

• Net Interest Margin (NIM) modelling - build, maintain and enhance sophisticated NIM models, analysing the key drivers of margin and funding costs
• Profitability modelling - develop detailed analysis to understand profitability and performance across products and the broader business
• Pricing & risk‑based modelling - support pricing decisions through financial and risk‑based analysis, assessing the impact of pricing, funding and portfolio assumptions
• Budget & forecasting modelling - own and enhance budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting models to support financial planning and decision‑making
• 3‑way financial modelling - develop and maintain integrated P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow models, with experience in this area highly regarded
• Build complex financial models from scratch, applying best‑practice modelling principles and robust model architecture
• Provide detailed product‑level analysis across NIM, profitability and NPAT to support strategic decision‑making
• Work closely with Finance, Treasury, Data and senior stakeholders to translate financial data into meaningful commercial insights
• Enhance reporting, dashboards and business intelligence capabilities, identifying opportunities to automate and improve existing processes
• Prepare and oversee key monthly reporting, variance analysis and Finance Board reporting
• Provide ad‑hoc financial modelling, analysis and decision support to senior management

The Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years' experience in a similar function
• Proven track record of building and running sophisticated financial models from scratch within a financial services organisation (essential)
• Must have experience in building models across NIM, profitability, pricing and budgeting

• They operate a hybrid working model of 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
