Job summary

Optus is seeking a senior Fixed Voice engineer to operate and maintain Ribbon platforms, perform Level 2 fault management and root cause analysis. You will configure C20 elements, manage SIP trunking, and drive maintenance in a hybrid work model across Australia.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in Fixed Voice, strong Ribbon experience, ITIL practice, and hands-on tools like Grafana, Wireshark and ServiceNow. Collaboration with NOC and vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of wireline or Fixed Voice experience with Ribbon/GENBAND platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, CS or equivalent; Ribbon certs and ITIL v4 preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of CS2000, C20, SBC platforms and SIP trunking.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Ribbon Fixed Voice nodes and associated sub-elements.
• Provide Level 2 fault management and incident resolution per ITIL best practices.
• Configure and manage C20 elements and SIP/TDM interworking.
• Monitor KPIs with Grafana and Kalix; perform root-cause analysis for outages.
• Develop SOPs, risk assessments and change records; coordinate with NOC and vendors.
