Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking a Senior Specialist – Fixed Plant to lead procurement strategies for Pilbara Projects, including the China Sourcing Plan. Based in Perth, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage complex contractual disputes and drive value-based procurement decisions.

You will build a high performing team, engage stakeholders across engineering and delivery, and guide Specialists through end-to-end procurement activities in a fast-paced capital projects environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business and/or Commercial Law (or related discipline).
• Strategic mindset with experience leading construction category strategy.
• 6+ years delivering large & complex projects in the Pilbara with capital projects exposure.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with autonomous milestone adherence.
• Prior leadership and coaching experience will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support building a high performing procurement team and manage Pilbara Projects Fixed Plant portfolio.
• Develop and implement Fixed Plant strategies and China Sourcing Plan with Pilbara Projects team.
• Manage dispute resolution process for complex contractual claims.
• Make sound contractual judgements and recommend value-based solutions for the business.
• Be an expert negotiator, mediator and problem solver to drive positive outcomes and mitigate risks.
• Maximise commercial value through leading contract management practices.
• Build and manage long-term supplier relationships.
• Provide coaching to Specialists on end-to-end procurement activities.
