Job summary

Qualifications

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as building surveying, fire engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum registration level of Building Surveyor – Restricted (all classes of building) under the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018.
• Extensive knowledge of and high-level capacity to develop, lead and implement a legislative and regulatory framework relevant to the work of the team including, but not limited to the Local Government Act 1993; Environmental Planning and Assessment 1979; Boarding Houses Act 2012; National Construction Code (Building Code of Australia) and Australian Standards
• Knowledge, skills and experience in following strict procedures associated with regulatory investigations and audits, ability to read and interpret plans and follow policies and procedures
• Demonstrated high level written communication skills, including writing statutory reports for Council meetings and briefing notes interpersonal skills demonstrated conflict resolution, consultation and negotiation skills.
• NSW Class C Driver Licence

Education
