Job summary

CGC Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Sydney. You’ll take responsibility for design and delivery of fire protection systems across a diverse portfolio of building projects.

For candidates at Principal level there is scope to take on greater responsibility across technical leadership, project delivery, client relationships and mentoring more junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in Fire Protection Engineering.
• Experience within a building services engineering consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC requirements and relevant fire protection codes.
• Experience designing fire protection systems for commercial, healthcare, education, data centre, defence or other complex building environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver fire protection systems across a diverse portfolio of building projects.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Manage projects from concept through detailed design and construction.
• Attend client and project meetings.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

I’m recruiting for an established, highly regarded multidisciplinary engineering consultancy looking to strengthen its Fire Protection team in Sydney.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire Protection Engineer who wants exposure to major, technically challenging building projects, while joining a well-established team with strong project pipelines and genuine career progression.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for the design and delivery of fire protection systems across a diverse portfolio of building projects.

For candidates operating at Principal level, there is scope to take on greater responsibility across technical leadership, project delivery, client relationships and mentoring more junior engineers.

You’ll be involved in:

• Sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel and other fire services systems
• Design documentation, specifications and technical reports
• Coordination with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, structural and architectural disciplines
• Managing projects from concept through detailed design and construction
• Attending client and project meetings
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
• Building strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders

About You

To be considered, you’ll ideally have:

• 4+ years’ experience in Fire Protection Engineering
• Experience within a building services engineering consultancy
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC requirements and relevant fire protection codes
• Experience designing fire protection systems for commercial, healthcare, education, data centre, defence or other complex building environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
