Job summary

The ACT Parks and Conservation Service seeks a Senior Fire Management Officer to lead bushfire mitigation programs across the ACT estate, including fire trail construction, roading and access upgrades, and ecological burning initiatives. This is a strategic, field-based leadership role.

You will supervise contractors, coordinate emergency preparedness, engage stakeholders, and contribute to community safety and environmental resilience through effective incident management and fire access

Qualifications

• Experience and qualifications in an AIIMS role.
• WWVP registration prior to starting.
• Able to undertake the Arduous national fire fighting task assessment.
• Willing to wear a uniform and work a roaster, including weekends/holidays/evenings.
• Hold a current manual driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of bushfire mitigation programs across the ACT estate.
• Oversee fire trail construction, roading and access infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate cultural and ecological burning initiatives and supervise contractors.
• Manage emergency preparedness activities and incident management.
