Job summary

Australian Payments Plus is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to manage day-to-day finance functions, ensuring accurate recording and timely reporting for AP+ in line with Australian Accounting Standards and company policies.

This role also supports Treasury, Tax and compliance obligations, with a core focus on year-end and audit readiness. You will work across teams to deliver high-quality outputs on time, and bring 5+ years of payments experience, CPA/CA qualifications, and audit expertise.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting.
• CPA or CA qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' directly relevant finance experience within a payments organisation.
• External audit experience.
• Experience in the preparation and review of financial statements.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and work collaboratively to deliver solutions.
• A proactive mindset during change, encouraging flexibility and helping others see opportunities.
• A collaborative approach, working effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Audit & Financial Statements: Provide supporting documentation and analysis for the year-end external audit.
• Month End: Prepare, review and post month-end journals; support timely month-end close.
• Reconciliations: Prepare and review high-quality balance sheet reconciliations; adhere to AP+ policies.
• Technical Accounting: Apply accounting standards to operational matters; prepare technical memos.
• Tax: Support the management of AP+’s tax obligations.
• Financial Compliance: Assist in ensuring AP+ meets compliance obligations and government reporting requirements.
