Job summary

Professional Search Group (PSG) is assisting a WA mining organisation in Perth to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant. The role covers financial reporting, statutory compliance, audit, fixed assets, and mining accounting with broad responsibilities and potential to convert to a permanent position.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will own balance sheet areas, support audit/tax, treasury, and drive improvements across SAP and finance systems to strengthen controls.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA or equivalent qualification is highly regarded.
• Strong financial accounting and month‑end experience.
• Hands‑on SAP experience is essential.
• Mining/resources experience is highly regarded.
• Excellent audit, balance sheet and statutory reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review month‑end financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support statutory reporting and compliance with Australian standards and IFRS.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requirements.
• Manage fixed asset and capital expenditure accounting.
• Support accounting for exploration, mine development and rehabilitation provisions.
• Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Assist with BAS, payroll tax, royalties and other statutory obligations.
• Support cash flow forecasting and treasury activities.
• Drive improvements across SAP, reporting and finance systems.
