Job summary

People2people - Brisbane is partnering with a large international mining organisation in Brisbane to recruit a Senior Accountant for an initial 3-month assignment with potential extension or permanent transition. The role is on-site and offers exposure to high-quality assets across multiple locations.

You will manage month-end, support tax compliance with external advisors, assist with annual reporting and year-end close, liaise with internal audit, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA qualification required or equivalent
• Strong financial accounting experience essential
• Experience with ERP systems and mining industry advantageous

About the role

The business is in an extremely strong cashflow position and operates high-quality assets in numerous locations.

Key responsibilities

• Managing the month end process for a significant entity
• Support with the preparation and lodgement of tax compliance in partnership with external advisors
• Assist with annual reporting and year-end close
• Key liaison for internal audit requests and queries
• Contribute towards process improvement initiatives

What we're looking for

• CPA/CA qualification with strong financial accounting experience. Experience in Mining & Resources sector is highly advantageous but not essential
• Experience in a medium-large business framework using ERP systems
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to manage complex issues
• Candidates that are immediately available and prepared to work 5 days on-site
