Job summary

RateMyAgent, now Renowned, is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to own statutory reporting, safeguard our financial controls, and keep ASX compliance running like clockwork.

You will lead preparation of statutory financial statements, disclosures and technical papers under Australian Accounting Standards, coordinate with external auditors, and manage tax and compliance.

The role offers hybrid work with three days in Cremorne and two from home, plus standard leave and wellness days.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification required.
• Strong external audit, technical accounting or financial reporting background.
• Experience preparing statutory financial statements and ASX reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements, disclosures and technical accounting papers under Australian Accounting Standards.
• Prepare the finance inputs for Appendix 4C, 4D, 4E and other ASX reporting requirements.
• Act as the day-to-day contact for external auditors, coordinating schedules and queries.
• Deliver tax and finance compliance, working with external advisers as needed.
• Execute detailed month-end and year-end close with GL integrity and consolidations.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve outstanding items.
• Support cash-flow forecasting and working-capital reporting with accurate data.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies and month-end processes.
• Support Finance leadership on technical accounting and statutory reporting initiatives.

The Role

As we accelerate our growth trajectory, we need a sharp, technically brilliant Senior Financial Accountant to own our statutory reporting, safeguard our financial controls, and keep our ASX compliance running like clockwork.

What you'll do

• Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements, disclosures and technical accounting papers under Australian Accounting Standards.


• Prepare the finance inputs for Appendix 4C, 4D, 4E and other ASX financial reporting requirements.


• Act as the day-to-day point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit schedules, supporting documentation and audit queries.


• Deliver the Group’s tax and finance compliance requirements, working with external advisers where needed.

• Execute the detailed month-end and year-end close, including general ledger integrity, group consolidations and supporting schedules.


• Prepare and review key balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and ensure outstanding items are resolved.


• Support cash-flow forecasting and working-capital reporting through accurate financial data and analysis.


• Maintain and improve internal financial controls, accounting policies and month-end processes.


• Support the Finance leadership team on technical accounting, statutory reporting and other finance initiatives.

Who You Are

Non-negotiable

• CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.


• Strong external audit, technical accounting or financial reporting background.


• Experience preparing statutory financial statements.


• Strong month-end, balance sheet reconciliation and financial control capability.


• Strong Excel and finance systems capability.


• Clear written and verbal communication.


• 5+ years' relevant accounting experience.

Nice to have; not necessary

• ASX-listed reporting experience, either in industry or through external audit.


• Technology, subscription or marketplace experience preferred.
  


• Exposure to PropTech, real estate, or B2B SaaS selling to SMBs/franchises.


• Experience in fast-paced startup environments.


• Experience marketing across multiple geographies and time zones.
