Job summary

Jobtailor in Australia seeks a senior accounting professional to lead statutory financial statements, disclosures, and technical accounting papers under Australian Accounting Standards. You will coordinate external audits, drive group tax and compliance, and support month-end/year-end close with strong internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of statutory financial statements and disclosures under Australian Accounting Standards
• Prepare finance inputs for Appendix 4C, 4D, 4E and other ASX reporting requirements
• Act as day-to-day contact for external auditors, coordinating audit schedules and requests
• Deliver group tax and finance compliance, coordinating with external advisers
• Execute detailed month-end and year-end close with GL integrity and consolidations
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Support cash-flow forecasting and working-capital reporting with accurate data
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies and month-end processes
• Support Finance leadership on technical accounting and statutory reporting
• Report to Head of Finance & Performance with direct access to CFO

Job description

• Prepare finance inputs for Appendix 4C, 4D, 4E and other ASX financial reporting requirements
• Act as day-to-day point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit schedules, supporting documentation and audit queries
• Deliver Group tax and finance compliance requirements, working with external advisers where needed
• Execute detailed month-end and year-end close, including general ledger integrity, group consolidations and supporting schedules
• Prepare and review key balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve outstanding items
• Support cash-flow forecasting and working-capital reporting through accurate financial data and analysis
• Maintain and improve internal financial controls, accounting policies and month-end processes
• Support the Finance leadership team on technical accounting, statutory reporting and other finance initiatives
• Report to the Head of Finance & Performance with direct access to the CFO

Requirements

• CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
• Strong external audit, technical accounting or financial reporting background
• Experience preparing statutory financial statements
• Strong month-end, balance sheet reconciliation and financial control capability
• Strong Excel and finance systems capability
• Clear written and verbal communication
• 5+ years’ relevant accounting experience
• ASX-listed reporting experience, either in industry or through external audit (nice to have; not necessary)
• Technology, subscription or marketplace experience preferred
• Exposure to PropTech, real estate, or B2B SaaS selling to SMBs/franchises (nice to have; not necessary)
• Experience in fast-paced startup environments (nice to have; not necessary)
• Experience marketing across multiple geographies and time zones (nice to have; not necessary)

Demonstrates expertise in statutory financial statement preparation, technical accounting, and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards. Proven ability to manage external audits, financial controls, and month-end processes while effectively communicating with finance leadership.
