Job summary

Randstad partnered organisation in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to own the general ledger and financial reporting. You will report to the Financial Controller and drive the month-end close with robust balance sheet reconciliations.

You will liaise with auditors, oversee year-end reporting, and lead improvement initiatives to strengthen controls and efficiency in a hybrid, South East location.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years of financial accounting experience in a manufacturing/commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of AASB/IFRS and ability to manage competing priorities with strict reporting deadlines.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with SAP or Microsoft Dynamics are highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead full month-end close process for a complex corporate structure.
• Own Trial Balance, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly journal postings.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams on inventory and cost accounting in high-volume manufacturing.
• Act as key finance contact for external auditors; manage year-end reporting and statutory compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement, strengthen controls, and implement streamlined processes.

About the Opportunity

As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will report directly to the Financial Controller. You will be at the forefront of the finance function, taking true ownership of the general ledger and financial reporting to enable informed decision-making. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Driving the full month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across a complex corporate structure.
• Full ownership of the Trial Balance, balance sheet reconciliations, and the posting of monthly journals.
• Partnering closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to oversee inventory and cost accounting in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
• Acting as the primary financial contact for external auditors, managing year-end reporting and statutory compliance.
• Driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency gains, strengthening financial controls, and implementing streamlined solutions.

Ideal Profile

• You will be CA/CPA qualified with 5 years of relevant financial accounting experience within the manufacturing is similar complex commercial environment.
• Strong AASB/IFRS knowledge with a demonstrated experience manage competing priorities and strict reporting deadlines.
• A commercial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
• Advanced Excel skills essential, with experience using SAP or Microsoft Dynamics highly advantageous.
