Stanbroke is looking for a hands-on farm leader to manage a team on their cattle property. Your responsibilities will include allocating tasks, overseeing hay production, and maintaining compliance with environmental standards.
This on-site role requires experience in cattle handling, a current Australian driver license, and chemical application accreditation. Join a respected Australian beef producer and enjoy competitive pay and a supportive work environment.
Lead a hands-on farm team on the property behind one of Australia's premium beef brands.
Stanbroke is a reputable family-owned and operated Australian cattle and beef business. Our operations span across Northern Queensland with extensive cattle properties, backgrounding operations in Southern Queensland, state-of-the-art feedlots, a fully accredited beef processing facility and global marketing capabilities. We produce a full range of Grain and Grass-fed beef categories and export to over 40 countries worldwide.
You'll lead a team of farmers, allocating work, setting priorities and making sure tasks are done safely and to standard. The work covers hay production across certified organic and conventional paddocks, working alongside the Environmental Manager to operate the wastewater and effluent irrigation system in line with our environmental licence, as well as supporting weed and pasture management. You'll also plan rotational grazing, oversee mustering, cattle handling and routine husbandry, and coordinate cattle receivals at the plant. Caring for the property's resident cattle is part of the job too.
You'll operate and maintain tractors, ATVs, 4x4s, slashers and hay equipment. You'll also work closely with and cross over with the Environmental Manager to maintain accurate records supporting organic certification, environmental compliance and NLIS traceability.
This is an outdoor, on-site role. It involves work around livestock and machinery, some lone work, and weekend or out-of-hours work at times for receivals, mustering and wet weather irrigation.
You'll bring hands-on farming or property experience, including cattle handling and routine husbandry such as drenching, vaccinating and tagging. You'll know low-stress stock handling, be confident operating and maintaining farm machinery, and know how to identify and control weeds.
You'll need a current Australian driver licence. You'll also need chemical application accreditation (such as ChemCert or SMARTtrain), or be willing to obtain it within an agreed timeframe after starting. You'll have experience leading or supervising a small team in a farming or outdoor operations setting. You'll be confident giving clear direction, coaching and training staff, and managing performance and safety on the ground.
Hay production, effluent irrigation or organic certification experience is a plus. Training is provided on the irrigation system.
You'll be practical and safety-conscious, careful with record-keeping, and committed to animal welfare. You'll work well independently and adapt to seasonal and weather-driven demands.
